Alphabet Vase

Can I just say I am so happy with the way this came out! I LOVE IT!!! I love that you can see the raw clay but it is glazed in the inside so you can still use it. I made one of these a long time ago and love looking at it up on my shelf. I think I would love to have a set of three of them together. What do you think?

My little Vase.

I just love my fabric press pieces. Everyone I make comes out different and unique to its self. I have an idea but never know exactly how it is truly going to turn out. I could make this tip of pieces all day long :)

Plate and Cookie Jar

My plate and cookie jar came out of the glaze firing today and I am really happy with the outcome :)

Here is my Cookie Jar….

Here is a plate that I made for my parents. I just love their wedding pictures. I love my dad’s top hat and cane. My mom’s fake flower ostrage feather bouquet that she still has lol.  My parents look so young and happy. They are still happily married too. I hope they like how the plate turned out.

Decorative Plate Ideas

Here are some plates that I have done in the past. I hope you like what you see and it gives you an idea what I can do with your picture.

Test pieces.

I have been busy working on some test pieces to make sure everything goes according to plan. The first thing I am going to post on etsy will be wedding plates. But I need to make sure the glazes and slip is going to turn out.  Here are my first two tests plates that I have made which still need to be fired in the kiln. I've also made a cookie jar just for fun.

Cookie Jar :)
Now I just need to let them dry and bisque fire them. After that comes the glazing and then hopefully I can put them up on etsy. What do you think?

A little about me

Hi my name is Sami and for years now people have been telling me that I need to make and sell my artwork…well here I go. I have decided to help my husband get through school by making and selling my handmade ceramic pieces. I have been working with clay off and on for 9 years. It all started when I was a sophomore in high school and continued all through college. I have even had some pieces in a few art galleries. However once I got pregnant with my first child Kaiden, I had to give up my art to be a stay at home mommy. I now feel like Kaiden is old enough that I can continue on with my ceramics. I hope you enjoy my art work as much as I do creating it. If there is ever something special you would like made let me now and I can see what I can come up with.
